EVERYTHING HAS A BEGINNING

Agara mudhala ezhuthellam aadhi bhaghawan mudhatre ulagu - Thiruvalluvar (circa 500 CE) MEANING: Like A is the beginning of the alphabets, God (the primordial being) is the beginning of everything. The world famous 'Thirukural' is one of the oldest non-religious texts that has been translated to many languages and has received critical acclaim from several scholars such as Ilango Adigal, Kambar, Leo Tolstoy, Mahatma Gandhi, Albert Schweitzer, Constantius Joseph Beschi, Karl Graul, George Uglow Pope, Alexander Piatigorsky, and Yu Hsi. It is also well known for its secular teachings covering a gamut of topics from all walks of life and is applicable to humans of all ages irrespective of their gender, caste, creed or race. Thus it only seemed fitting to begin this blog with a post dedicated to a couplet from an ancient text that is dedicated to a nameless, omniscient, omnipotent God who guides our thoughts.
